Every year, Stanford University receives more than 40,000 applications from high school applicants. Only 5% of them receive an acceptance letter from Stanford. For example, in 2015, Stanford received a record 42,487 applications out of 2,144 applicants for the Class of 2019. This is an admission rate of 5.0%.
