Welcome to ON SEA! Just steps from the beach is Palisades Park Beach, one of San Diego’s best surf and family beaches. Early in the morning, you will have the opportunity to hang out with the locals and carry your cup of coffee over the rocks to watch the morning surfers. If early mornings aren’t your thing, mingle with the locals and join the Cliff Yoga yogis around 9:30 a.m. and again later in the afternoon. Lessons are contribution based and designed for both beginners and advanced professionals. In the afternoon, on windy days, you will see colorful kite surfers, who handle their boards and kites with extreme dexterity. Each night, on the rocks of Palisades Park, you’ll be treated to a beautiful sunset with other locals gathering as the sun sets. The “Boardwalk” begins here at Palisades Park and stretches more than three miles down the jetty. The action on the boardwalk starts early in the morning with walkers, joggers, cyclists with beach yachts and skaters getting their morning exercise. Others are seen sitting on the many benches overlooking the sea, seeking the serenity of overlooking the ocean. Coffee shops, bars, and restaurants fill up quickly on the boardwalk, especially during the holidays or during football season. The boardwalk is home to Crystal Pier, where fishing rods and lures are available to all (no license required). “Homebodies” who like to hang out “at the beach” sipping coffee/wine on their private patio can enjoy the lively ocean and street view patio bar: in the privacy of your own home, you’ll watch animations North Pacific Beach: neighbors, surfers, cyclists, daring skaters, Dog walkers and walkers bring a sea side to this ever-changing video. And for family members who really need a getaway, the beach has a spacious patio with BBQ facilities, dining tables and outdoor seating and stunning sea views. If you want to shop, Garnet Ave is the place to go. Shops geared toward a younger crowd and contemporary funky clothing, costume jewelry, shoes and more, doesn’t mean the over-60s can’t find an outfit or two. Garnet is home to ice cream parlors, bars and tattoo parlors known as Pacific Beach (PB). By far the most visited shop is the Pangea Outpost, where locals rent out space and sell a variety of leisure gifts and clothing. On Tuesdays is the PB Farmers Market across from Garnett (near Pangea) 2-6:30 p.m. Throughout Pacific Beach, on the boardwalk and throughout the community and Mission Beach, you’ll find surf schools and aquatic centers offering daily and weekly courses for all ages. These schools have good programs/camps for kids. Register in advance! Bayside offers additional water-related activities (canoeing / kayaking / jetpacking) on or near the catamaran. Fanuel Park is a great place for moms and dads to take their kids who love to swing on the swings, rock climb on the jungle gyms and cement dolphin rides, and play in the calm of the bayside waters. Bayside is a great place for families to cycle because it’s a little less crowded than the boardwalk. Golfers will find their paradise at the nearby golf courses: Mission Beach Municipal Golf Course (next to I-5) and Torrey Pines Public Golf Course. For those looking for a challenging course, Balboa Golf Course, next to Balboa Park, is another great option. North Pacific Beach and especially The Beach offers a low density area with quiet, spacious outdoor living and the comforts of your own home, all planted in one zone. A vibrant, trendy area of San Diego. North Pacific Beach is bordered by La Jolla (Burdrock) to the north and Mission Beach to the south. Our neighborhood is mainly populated by locals and only has a handful of motels for rent. Neighbors are respectful and friendly and appreciate the low density and no noise at night with neighbors who enjoy relaxing and unwinding in the evenings. We ask that those on the beach respect their neighbors and the evening curfew. what
