Bank of America has quietly changed the structure of their 3% levels on the Business Advantage Cash Rewards Mastercard to allow users to choose one of six levels to earn 3% up to a maximum of $ 50,000. This is somewhat similar to what they did recently with the Personal Cash Rewards Card.

Under the old terms, you got 3% to $ 250,000 on gas stations and office supply stores. Under the new terms, you can choose one of these six categories, with a maximum limit of $ 50,000. The $ 50,000 limit is combined with the 2% payout limit on the food category (which is the other card bonus category).

In general, under the old terms you can get 3% on both office supplies and gas stations, up to $ 250,000 a year, but under the new terms you can choose one category only, so I would say this is a downgrade. The limit is now $ 50,000, and the limit is now combined with the 2% dining limit.
