I’ve learned to plan my credit card balance for short periods of time – like year-to-year, quarter-to-quarter. why? Many credit card companies have developed spending bonuses over the past few years. Not only did they introduce exciting promotions for new cardholders, but they also gave existing members a chance to earn bonuses and enjoy great discounts.
Credit Card Travel Offers
Below are the travel credit cards (and cash back cards) I’m using in the first few months of 2022 — and why.
The Best Travel Credit Cards Of July 2022
I wanted to write this a few weeks ago – like the end of December or the first days of the year. But this is where decisions go wrong, so I wanted to see if I was following my plan. So far, so good – and I’m happy with how things are going!
I got approved for the Capital One Venture X Rewards credit card in mid-December and use it for all my purchases until I reach my minimum spending goal. So we’ll go from there. When I get to that point, I hope to use a card without bonus cash (ie, miscellaneous fees, taxes, etc.) because the card earns unlimited 2X points.
Travel-wise, I would probably use Capital One Venture X for flights because it earns 5X on flights purchased through Capital One Travel. But I don’t know how many flights I should take. We have Delta E credit for goats. And even though Delta generously extended the eCredit deadline to December 2023, I would have preferred to use it sooner. For every dollar spent on these tickets, I will use the Chase Sapphire Reserve® because it earns 3X cash back on travel purchases and gives me safety and security.
For registration, I use the Blue Cash Preferred ® card from American Express. The card earns 6% unlimited cash back on purchases at select US merchants. Cashback is offered in the form of “Reward Dollars” that can be used against your statement credit.
Best Travel Credit Cards
In terms of business, the Business Platinum Card® from American Express makes more money. It seems that someone has failed to post somewhere on the blog and I am getting 5X membership rewards over the next few months. (About time I’ll have to update it. 🙂 ) Also, my newsletter service and stock photo posts earn 1.5X membership rewards.
I use the American Express $10 a month wireless credit business platinum card to pay part of my cell phone bill. (Registration required.) Cash ends on my Ink Business Cash® credit card. It earns 5X on the first $25,000 spent on office supplies and internet, cable and phone services per account annuity.
Since Bird’s Eye is more focused on Delta Air Lines and SkyMiles than other travel providers and programs, you may find it odd that none of my Delta American Express cards are listed above.
Ms. Carly (who has nice legs in the photo above 😉 ) is a Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card Member. I have a Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Business American Express Card. In the past, we used our SkyMiles cards to earn the MQM bonus and fulfill the Delta Amex MQD waiver.
Travel Credit Cards
With Delta’s award-winning flights earning MQM, MQS, and MQD in 2022, we’re confident our accumulated points and eCredits will be enough to kick off our 2023 Medal and Silver year. Prepare MQD.
You can say. Hey, we’re going to roll out a lot of MQMs in 2023 and tell your mileage partners ASAP in 2023 to get Platinum and hopefully Diamond.
Also, 99% of my work is done remotely now. It was about 30%. So reduced (or go together) is the opportunity to always earn points related to money in the field of work, such as cars, gas, food, drinks and customers, etc. And most of my travel duties are limited to Las Vegas. I’m fine taking the Southwest bus from Burbank to LAS.
Date of eCredit. So who knows? And I’m hoping that I don’t have unplanned expenses that tell me, “Okay, I can put this on the reserve card and put the sculpture on the $25,000 cash discount…”
Best Travel Credit Cards In 2022: Top Airline & Hotel Reward Cards
This is my travel credit card plan starting in 2022. I’m sure a big, new credit card will be announced. Some parts of existing card usage may be sweetened. So I will make changes as needed.

If your travel payment cards have been sitting in the back of your sock drawer for more than a year, you’re not alone. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot of value for them – even from those with an annual membership fee.
