First-time students applying to Grand Canyon University must have a high school GPA of at least 3.0 or higher or take a state standardized test if their GPA is between 2.5 and 3.0. Students with a GPA below 3.0 must score a 19 on the ACT or a 1380 on the math and reading sections of the SAT. Transfer student applications are similar and require a student to meet a minimum GPA to meet admission requirements.
Students who wish to apply and be admitted to graduate school must have a minimum GPA of 2.8 for graduate work. Students with a GPA below 2.8 may complete their application and take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE) to qualify for admission. Doctoral applicants must have at least a master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Online Education & Teaching Degree Programs
Tuition for Grand Canyon University on-campus students is $687.50 per semester for credits 1 through 11 or $8,250 per semester for credits 12 through 18. Online and evening students pay $440 per credit for education programs, $395 for theology programs, and $449 for most business programs. Active duty and reserve applicants pay a reduced rate of $250 per loan.
Graduate students enrolled in online study pay rates based on the program they are enrolled in. Education programs are $530 per credit, information technology programs are $505 per credit, and nursing programs are $500 per credit. Students enrolled in continuing professional education classes online pay $150 per credit.
Students enrolled in most programs at Grand Canyon University are eligible for financial aid whether they take classes on campus or online. The university has many opportunities for scholarships and grants, and students may qualify for federal financial aid and military aid. The university allows students to transfer credits they have already earned, which lowers the overall cost of attending university.
To qualify for GCU financial aid, students must submit a FAFSA form. Submission qualifies the student for federal financial aid as well as institutional scholarships and grants through the university.
