Marine Biology (master)

Practical skills sessions, lab seminars and workshops are primarily one-on-one, with group work and demonstrations. We also run virtual labs and simulated learning environments that will provide greater access to future training opportunities. However, our approach also includes using online learning to support and augment traditional face-to-face learning.

Online learning can be ‘live’ using software such as Zoom, allowing you to interact with the lecturer and other students and ask questions. Lecture recordings also allow greater flexibility to revisit material, revise for assessments and extend learning further. Classroom. Some modules have additional resources in Canvas, such as videos, slides and quizzes that allow for more flexible learning.

The course offers some modules taught in Welsh or bilingually for students who consider themselves fluent Welsh speakers. See the Welsh Provision Expander below for more details of the provision available.

There are opportunities for Welsh speakers to study some elements of the course through Welsh, but there are still insufficient requirements to reach 40 credits per year.

All of our bioscience courses have modules that include a field course. The university is an ideal place to study the biological sciences as we have excellent facilities for biology, zoology and marine biology.
