The Konrad-Adenauer Foundation () is a political foundation inspired by Christian democratic values, democracy and the rule of law, the implementation of social and market-economic structures, and the promotion of human rights in Europe and around the world.

In accordance with these principles, our foundation provides scholarships to foreign students and graduates for study and research at German universities. Thus, we actively promote intercultural dialogues, the formation of international networks, as well as the internationalization of universities and science.

Now our scientists come from 55 countries of the world. Their subjects are varied: law, science, music and also medicine, just to name a few.

Our scholarship program for international students is aimed at international students and graduates who have obtained a university degree and are studying for a postgraduate or master’s, doctoral or research study of at least four semesters at a German university.

Our scholarship program includes financial assistance, personal mentoring, an extensive workshop program, and access to a global network. After successful graduation, we are in touch with our alumni and involve them in national and international activities.

The duration and level of funding varies for different types of studies. Graduates (master’s or postgraduate) receive a monthly stipend of 861 euros. The standard financing period is two years. After gaining unconditional acceptance to a doctoral program at a German university, PhD students receive a monthly stipend of €1,200. The standard funding period for PhD scholars is three years. We also provide funding for at least three semesters of research stay in Germany.

In addition to the monthly stipend, we offer a number of allowances to our scholars. On request, we subsidize health insurance up to €120 per month. More than 50 regional alumni groups and numerous specialized sub-networks around the world provide great opportunities for our alumni scholars and enable them to stay connected with our foundation.
