AuClaudia R. is a teacher at GoPeer. He recently graduated from Boston University with a degree in psychology, a degree in clinical psychology, and a degree in Hispanic. Claudia is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and a PhD. When did you know you wanted to study psychology?
I knew I was studying psychology since I was in sixth grade. I saw around me friends and classmates who had issues with malnutrition, anxiety and more, and I was shocked by the absence of adults in the school. My goal is to have teenagers like me, especially those from low-income families.

The University of Texas at Austin is a good place for me to pursue my interests as most of the research has focused on the latex community. I have joined two different labs in my program, one focusing on how families affect one another and the other learning how to incarcerate, remarry and return to the Latin community.

I decided to add small Spanish courses to my college years because I’m from Spain. Although I was born and raised in the United States, my first language was Spanish and I didn’t learn English until I was six. As a first-generation American, freshman student, it was important to me to find a way to connect my culture to my roots, even while separated from my family.
The decision to pursue this young kid early in my college career certainly intrigued me and opened my eyes to the needs of the Latinx community in the United States, which encouraged me to focus on the many studies that I graduated in this wonderful family. I am excited to see where this journey will take me!
I heard about GoPeer as a freshman who completed an apprenticeship with GoPeer last summer. I love teaching and am passionate about teaching and helping others teach, so this seemed like a good opportunity for me.
Since then I have been teaching with GoPeer and have achieved a lot. I have a lot of great clients and seeing my students brings a lot of joy to my day. The forums are extremely advanced compared to similar competitive forums and you can get easy results. I love it!
