Whether you are a high school student attending university or already at the university, Army ROTC has scholarships available. Scholarships are awarded based on academic, athletic and leadership skills, not financial needs. All scholarships cover tuition fees and compulsory costs. The scholarships provide a scholarship for books as well as a monthly personal living allowance. You can also choose to apply for your scholarship on room and board.
Army ROTC scholarships are divided into two categories: 4-year national scholarships (for high school seniors) and 4, 3, and 2-year campus-based scholarships (for undergraduates or current college students).
How To Apply For A Rotc Scholarship
National scholarships are designed for high school seniors. The application window is open during the first half of a student’s senior year and is associated with the application to the college. The National Army ROTC Scholarship Program is administered by the United States Army Cadet Command. The annual deadline for applying for a four-year national scholarship is February 4, 2022.

The military understands that high school students are still in the process of taking the SAT and ACT during their senior year. Therefore, the Army has three different boards that meet throughout the year to select ROTC scholarship winners. Below is the board schedule.
05 October 2021: All four steps listed above must be completed on the GoArmy site before this date to be considered by the First Panel. If all steps are not completed, the application will not be considered. The advantage to completing the ROTC package in time for the first board is that even if your package is not selected, it will be reviewed by the second and third board, which increases your chances of getting a scholarship.
18 October 2021: This is the date on which the first panel will meet and review all packages that have been delivered by October 5, 2021.
January 11, 2022: All four steps listed above must be completed on the GoArmy site before the date to be considered by the second board. If all steps are not completed, the application will not be considered. The advantage to completing the ROTC package in time for the second board is that even if your package is not selected, it will be reviewed by the third board, which increases your chances of getting a scholarship.

March 01, 2022: All four steps listed above must be completed on the GoArmy site before this date in order to be considered by the Third Panel. If all steps are not completed, the application will not be considered.
March 14, 2022: The board meets and functions until the board reviews each package that was prepared when the board started.
The Army Rotc Scholarship Process
The selection for ROTC scholarships is highly competitive and we recommend that you complete your application to EWU ROTC and at least in time to see the second panel. Most of the scholarships are awarded by the second and third board and completing the application of the second board increases your chances of getting a scholarship. Decisions on excellent scholarships are usually issued two to four weeks after each panel. Periodically check the selection status tab in your GoArmy app to see if you are selected.
Give up hope of not getting a scholarship if you are not selected after the third board. There is a secondary process for applicants to get a scholarship. Applicants who have not been awarded a national award to any ROTC program may make an alternative bid. We get scholarships for many of our new, incoming freshmen with this optional process. Applying for a National Scholarship is simply the first step. Making an optional offer for us is very simple and easy, but you need to collect the RTC application first.
Campus-based scholarships are designed for high school students (who have missed the national application period) or bachelor- and graduate-level college students. Most campus-based applicants are already enrolled in ROTC, but this is not a requirement. Most of the criteria are still the same, but the process differs from the national process. Many of our cadets who received scholarships at the ROTC received their scholarships through the campus-based process. Scholarship money is available and we work hard to make it as competitive as possible to get your package.

Life As An Rotc Student At Michigan
For those who have graduated from the EWU and are considering pursuing a master’s degree, ROTC can help. We offer two-year scholarships to qualified applicants who cover the full cost of their master’s. Not only does ROTC pay full tuition fees, but we give you a $ 1,200 annual scholarship for books and a $ 420 monthly scholarship. ROTC is a way to track your advanced degree without accumulating more college credit. Contact us at 509-359-6110 or rotc@ewu.edu to learn more about our master’s scholarships.
What most people do not know is that joining the ROTC does not mean that you will be locked into an active duty after graduating from college. Cadets can actually get a scholarship, which they lock up in the army reserves after graduation. The scholarship is called a Minuteman scholarship. Anyone eligible for a ROTC scholarship can apply for a Minuteman scholarship. 2, 3, and 4 year Minuteman scholarships are available for qualified cadets. Click here to learn more about Minuteman scholarships.
If you are not eligible for a national or campus-based ROTC scholarship, there are other scholarship options available for EWU ROTC Cadets. Our EWU ROTC alumni have also established scholarships to support our cadets. We currently have two separate scholarship funds supported by our Fighting Eagles alumni. Click on the links below to learn more about the criteria and how to apply for each scholarship.
