The University of Rochester’s Accelerated Bachelor’s Nursing Program (ABSN) for non-nurses enables enlightened and motivated students to become a nurse at a rural university in upstate New York.
Accelerated Nursing Degree Programs
Students will complete 49 nursing credits and more than 700 clinical hours in medicine, obstetrics, pediatrics and psychiatry on the campus of the University of Rochester Medical Center. After three semesters of full-time courses, students will earn a Bachelor of Science degree with a Major in Nursing from the University of Rochester (ABSN). Graduates will then take the NCLEX RN exam to obtain the RN license.
What Is An Accelerated Bsn? Your Fast Track To An Advanced Nursing Education
To be eligible for the 12-month accelerated nursing program, students must have earned an earlier degree in a discipline other than nursing with a minimum of 2.8 GPA. Students are eligible to apply to begin the program in the spring, summer, or fall semesters with successful completion of the conditions for courses (21-24 credits).

Accelerated Nursing Programs For Second Degree Students In Ny
All conditional courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better by the deadlines mentioned in the table below. While it is acceptable for courses to be planned or in progress at the time of application, it is in the interest of students that as many courses as possible be completed at the time of application. Without exception, courses for conditions cannot be completed at the same time as the ABSN program.
Pass / Fail courses are acceptable conditions due to changes during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, these courses will not be taken into account when calculating grade point averages.

Samuel Merritt University offers courses for conditions in human anatomy, human physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology. Courses are taught in the fall, spring and summer and are designed for prospective students. More information can be found on the Master’s Degree Course website.
Accelerated Bachelor Of Science In Nursing
AP exam scores of 3, 4, or 5 and IB exam scores of 5, 6, or 7 can be used to meet conditions, but are only acceptable if exam scores are clearly marked on the official transcript of the university.
HESI A2 scores must be available at the time of submission of the permit application. You will be asked to submit your HESI A2 scores yourself and upload a copy of the scores report to the application.
Priority is given to candidates with scores above 80 percent in each of the following exams: Comprehension reading, vocabulary and general culture, grammar, mathematics, and anatomy and physiology. In addition, candidates should take the assessments of learning style and personality profile.
Samuel Merritt University re-licensing nursing programs now accept TEAS as an alternative to HESI A2 to meet the entrance exam requirements. Applicants should note that the University will not administer or host the TEAS exam on any of its campuses.
How Long Is An Accelerated Nursing Program?
When registering for the TEAS, applicants must select the TEAS option at ATI (online remotely proctored by ATI). Register for TEAS at http://www.atitesting.com/teas/register.
