Thinkorswim Review: Is It The Best Trading Platform?
TD Ameritrade (opening in a new tab) has announced the launch of Thinkorswim Web, which will make it easier to access a powerful trading platform.
The new browser interface includes many of the key features of the Thinkorswim desktop client, including demo accounts, live trading, and customizable technical charts.
The announcement was partly due to a trade jump caused by the coronavirus pandemic, as stock trading activity in the United States increased significantly when stimulus checks were issued. TD Ameritrade also noted that the web interface makes it easier for traders to access Thinkorswim at home, where several family members now share a desk for school and remote work.
TD Ameritrade originally bought Thinkorswim in 2009 under a $ 606 million contract. Steve Quirk, TD Ameritrade’s executive vice president of sales and education, said the Thinkorswim Web application “complements” the Thinkorswim experience for retailers. It also helps this broker compete with popular brokerage houses focused on mobile devices such as Robinhood (opens in a new tab) and Webull (opens in a new tab).
